PrintThis folder consists of a single black-and-white photograph, taken in 1964 as part of the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program. The photograph depicts a Miller bird (Acrocephalis familiaris) in its nest on Hawaiian Islands National Wildlife Refuge on Nihoa Island. A label on the back of the photograph indicates species, number, date, location, and detailed caption. The caption stresses the rarity of the bird, stating "this is one of the rarest birds in the world" and that this species only exists on 146 acres of Nihoa Island. The photograph is attributed to David B. Marshall.
