Abstract

The folder includes 1 color illustration and 2 letters regarding species Pseudogryphus californianus (Gymnogyps californianus). The color illustration of an adult male specimen includes notes about color (while alive), stomach contents, blood loss, wingspan, and weight. In the letter from W. E. The letter also provides a physical description of a dead specimen. In the letter from W. M. Mann to Roger Conant (Curator of Philadelphia Zoological Garden), dated July 5, 1945, Mann lists the California Condor specimens held in his collection. The list includes dates received, from whom, originating location, and current location (live or preserved). The letter also includes details about eggs laid and preserved.
