Abstract

The 13 black-and-white photographs document field work completed on Jarvis Island. The photographs show Brown Booby chicks (4/5 grown), a Sooty Tern colony, several Red-tailed Tropicbirds, close up of unidentified vegetation with ruler for scale, a shoreline view of rock rubble with Red-tailed Tropicbird nests, close up of a Lesser Frigate egg with chick pipping, a female Lesser Frigate, and Red-footed Boobies in dark phase. The images have captions on the reverse side that list location, description, Southern Island Cruise number (SIC 14), photographer (D. L. Pearson), and negative numbers(248, 249, 253, 254, 256, 258, 260, 263, 264, 266, 268, 270, 273).
