PrintThe notebook documents the ornithological field work of D. B. Burrows, January 22, 1898 - July 21, 1899. The volume is organized around two collecting seasons, with corresponding page numbers listed on the inside cover. Entries are headed with date, specimen identification (scientific name), locality (sometimes listing landmarks), followed by descriptions of habitat, nest composition, state of eggs, observed bird behavior, and sometimes collector. There are 3photographs with captions showing nests in situ. Collecting took place in Nueces county, Texas; Marshall county, Illinois, 1898 and 1899.
