Abstract

The field book documents Devra Kleiman's work in Nairobi [National] Park in East Africa, July 18- 30, 1974. Entries are dated. They detail travel (method of travel, time of day, accommodations) and interactions with colleagues, environment of Nairobi Park, various wildlife observed, vegetation, route traveled in park, and campsites. Some entries include detailed observations headed with location (e.g. "east gate"), and include a variety of information such as range of time, weather, description of animal (type, quantity, sex, behavior). Includes mammals (e.g. impala, zebra, wildebeest) and birds (e.g. vultures, ostrich) listed by common name. She also describes a visit to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and records observations of primate behavior. Other locations include vicinity of Lake Albert.
