PrintThe field book documents Devra Kleiman's study of in India and Nepal, January 13 - February 3, 1984. Entry content varies. First entries describes travel details (method of travel, accommodations, etc.) and descriptions of interactions with colleagues. Others are headed with location and are made up of lists of animals observed (birds and mammals) with few details. Some are organized by time of day followed by description of observed behavior; sometimes list sex, quantity, and type (e.g. nilgai, axis, sambar). Some entries are more narrative in style and describe environment, wildlife, and commentary on location. There is some discussion of park and sanctuary management. Locations include Bharatpur Wildlife Sanctuary, Panna National Park, Nagarhole National Park. A portion of the field book discusses work along the Naranyi River in Nepal, including method of travel, environment, wildlife observed. There are descriptions of activities such as sightseeing and visits to zoos. Includes pasted inserts (business cards).
