Abstract

The field book documents Frank C. Whitmore's field work in Baja California during 1977. Entries that describe work in Baja area begin several pages into the notebook. Entries are dated and are narrative in style. They describe daily personal and professional activities (including meals), travel details up to and including cruise, individuals with whom met, some notes on flora and fauna observed, observations of harems of elephant seals at San Bento Island, behaviors of whales and dolphins, weather, observed terrain and vegetation. Locations visited include Cedros Island, San Ignacio Lagoon, Isla San Martin, in Mexico.
