Abstract

The field book documents Frank C. Whitmore's field work during 1972. The notebook begins with a hand drawn annotated map. There is a list of contact information for individuals with whom he worked, local information (recommended accommodations, restaurants, attractions), then entries begin. Some are dated and are narrative in style. They describe daily work, names of colleagues, photographs taken, descriptions of marine mammal specimens (include some sketches; some specimens may be in other institution holdings). Some specimen descriptions include extensive measurements.
