PrintThe black-and-white photographs document field work on McKean Island for the the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program, February 16 - 20, 1964. There are captions on the reverse side of photographs that include location, date range, description, and sometimes photographer (R. Clapp). Sometimes captions list type of vegetation and additional information about bird's appearance. Subject matter includes island terrain (coastline), birds (Sooty Tern, Common Noddy, Fairy Tern, Gray Noddy, Masked Booby, Gray-backed Tern), eggs, nests, and building ruins on island.
