Abstract

The field notes document the ornithological field work of Joshua F. B. Camblos in Virginia, 1932 - 1934. Entries are not chronological. Entries are headed with type of bird, date, location, and name of collector. This is followed by a narrative that includes a combination of information about habitat, vegetation, nest construction, behavior of female bird, and appearance of eggs. Following this is a table of data with name, no., date, set, incubation; narrative entries headed with date and set identifier that describe appearance and condition of eggs (sometimes with measurements), habitat, location, and type of bird. Locations do not always indicate town and state. Identified sites include Big Stone Gap, Virginia.
