Abstract

The black-and-white photographs document field work on Howland Island, October 11, 1963. Images have captions on the reverse side listing location, date, description (sometimes with additional information about location on island or fauna abundance), photographer, and negative number. Subject matter covers various birds of various ages (Red-tailed Tropic Bird, Masked Booby, Brown Booby), skink, eggs and nests, vegetation (Tribulus flowers), habitat, and deserted bird colony.
