Abstract

The envelope of black and white photographs documents field work on Wake Island for the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program, March 8, 1968. Photographs have captions on the reverse side and list description, date, and location. Descriptions list additional location information referencing island landmarks. Subject matter covers interior and coastline terrain, bird specimens (Sooty Tern), cannon left on island, Booby-Frigate roost area, various structures in vicinity, and numbered plots (non sequential). Includes 4 color photographs of Brown Boobies and Sooty Terns taken by Earl Tempe, USAF on January 1968. Locations include Toki Point, Wilkes Island, and Kuku Point.
