Abstract

The black and white photographs document field work on Sand Island as part of Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program, July 4 - September 17, 1965. Captions include location, description (sometimes describes bird behavior), date, and image alpha numeric identifier (AV-#). Sometimes date and time of day is listed in the photograph image. Subject matter covers various types of birds in habitat (Great Frigatebirds, Sooty Terns, Red-footed Boobies) and vegetation.
