Abstract

The hand drawn and colored illustrations of starfish by Joseph Drayton during the United States Exploring Expedition Collection, dated October 1838 - November 1839. Each has a signature, date, and some have a location and notes. Drawings depict the entire and part of starfish. There is additional information recorded on the drawings: tab numbers, sometimes notebook numbers and page numbers, and additional numbers. Includes notes from J.P Couthouy. There are several reference to the location Orange Harbour. Refers to Goophyta.
