Abstract

The 2 notebooks document William Dunlop Brackenridge's botanical collecting efforts in the Feejee [Fiji] Islands during United States Exploring Expedition Collection, 1838-1842. The notebook are a list of observed plants. May include collected specimens. Details include name of the plant, physical description, location found, sometimes information about terrain (i.e. lagoon), and whether an introduced species. There are references to Samoa, Tahiti, and Tonga.
