Abstract

These are SIC #10 observation check-lists documenting birds seen November 15 - December 11, 1965, as part of Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program. Sheets list location (latitude and longitude, sometimes name of island in vicinity), observer, date, time (started), time (ended), and weather. There are notes about distance covered. Below this information is a list of species followed by abundance (quantity), breeding (quantity), and remarks. Counts are totaled at the bottom of each sheet. There is varying types and amounts of other data recorded, which include counts of porpoises, specimens collected, and observed behavior. Some pages are photocopies. On the verso of some sheets is flock data (time of day, quantity, type, sometimes behavior). Includes nocturnal observations. Locations include vicinity of Oahu, Johnston, Howland, and Baker Island.
