Abstract

The diary primarily documents Andrew Caudell's work during January 3, 1924 - October 4, 1926. Entries are dated and typed. They describe daily work (e.g. determinations), interactions with colleagues, sometimes weather, excerpts of correspondence, a news clipping, field work completed, and personal observations. Field work entries describe location, environment, vegetation, and insects (type, appearance, state of development, sometimes behavior). Field work is conducted in the vicinity of the District of Columbia. In 1925, he took a trip to western Washington and California before driving back to the east coast United States.
