Abstract

The diary documents Andrew Caudell's work during August 1 - December 31, 1920. Includes details of field work in Montana (Monida, Bozeman). These entries are dated and describe travel, environment, insects found (type, condition, state of growth), environment, details from discussions with local inhabitants about their observations of insects (including grasshoppers) and resulting damage, as well as use of poisons. Specimen numbers are listed in the margins along side entries. Other entries describe daily work, personal activities, and collecting in vicinity of District of Columbia including Virginia.
