Red-footed Booby color phases, 1966
Close
PrintThe notebook documents color phases of the Red-footed Booby, possibly as part of the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program, 1966. There are a variety of loose inserts. These include a table of typed notes of at-sea observation (source, locality, date, remarks), slips of paper listing N, mean, variance, standard deviation, typed notes on Sula Sula, and graphs of data. The notebook includes table of information headed with location (Howland Island) and date (September 15, 1966), then lists band number, A-S, nesting, feet, gular, tail, scap. region, lowerback & rump, wings, neck & head, underparts, headwash, and breast band. Much of the notebook is blank. Entries toward the back of the volume cover work on Enderbury Island on October 9, 1966 and Phoenix Island [Rawaki] on October 10, 1966. Entries cover banding and returns with counts of birds detailing age and coloring, nesting data, and bird band numbers.
