Abstract

The field book documents the field work of Roger Clapp in Midway Atoll, December 1 - 20, 1963. In the front of the volume is a list of instructions for banding and recording information. Work was completed for the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey. First section includes specimen number (20201 - 20218), followed by name (binomial, sometimes common name), location, date, age, sex, preparation method, 5 measurements including parts of anatomy, stomach contents, and presence of fat. Sometimes includes descriptions of appearance. A portion of the notebook is blank. Includes entries of banding records with a combination of date, band number (including recovered), type, location, and totals. After a blank portion, there is a daily record with dated entries listing travel details (e.g. arrival), daily work, weather, and colleagues with whom worked.
