Abstract

This item consists of a folder of data collected at sea by Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program staff, on the Southern Island Cruise 19 and Northern Grid Survey 38, aboard the Pribilof, 1968. A letter from Mae H. Esterline (USNM) to Max C. Thompson includes Esterline's questions about field work aboard the Pribilof with Thompson's annotated answers. Another letter from Thompson (Southwestern College) to Esterline was sent in 1969. Photocopied bird observation sheets include time, species, #, dir., specimen or band no., and remarks. Remarks include physical descriptions of birds (colors, size, maturity), flock size, and behavior (sitting on water, height off of water, etc.).
