Abstract

This item consists of a folder of data collected at sea by Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program staff, on the Southern Island Cruise 19 and Northern Grid Survey 38, aboard the Planetree, 1968. Materials include: bird observation data sheets, fix data sheets, and a list of birds collected. Bird observation sheets include time, species, #, dir., specimen or band no., and remarks. Remarks include physical descriptions of birds (colors, size, maturity), flock size, and behavior (sitting on water, height off of water, etc.). Fix data sheets include: ship, date, sunrise (time, lat., long.), sunset (time, lat., long.), total miles traveled, position (time, lat., long), and course or speed change. Also included is a photocopied typed preliminary report.
