This item consists of a folder of data collected at sea by Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program staff, on the Eastern Area Cruise 24, aboard the USS Hall, 1967. Materials include: bird observation data sheets, fix data sheets, surface weather observations. Bird observation sheets include time, species, #, dir., specimen or band no., and remarks. Remarks include physical descriptions of birds (colors, size, maturity), flock size, and behavior (sitting on water, feeding, calling, etc.). Fix data sheets include: ship, date, sunrise (time, lat., long.) sunset (time, lat., long.), total miles traveled, position (time, lat., long), and course or speed change. Surface weather observation sheets include: ship, position, course, spd., type, time, sky and ceiling, visibility, weather and obstructions to vision, sea level press., temp., dew pt., wind, and remarks. Photocopied collecting data is also included and records: field #, species, date, position, wt/, fat, sex, and remarks. Also included is a typed photocopied preliminary report.
