Abstract

This item consists of a folder of data collected at sea by Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program staff, on the Eastern Area Cruise 20, aboard the USS Granville S. Hall, 1967. Materials include: bird observation sheets, fix data sheets, surface weather observations, and additional data. Bird observation sheets include time, species, #, dir., specimen or band no., and remarks. Remarks include physical descriptions of birds (colors, size, maturity), flock size, and behavior (sitting on water, feeding, calling, etc.). Fix data sheets include: ship, date, sunrise (time, lat., long.) sunset (time, lat., long.), total miles traveled, position (time, lat., long), and course or speed change. Surface weather observations include: position, course, spd., type, time, sky and ceiling, visibility, weather and obstructions to vision, sea level press., temp., dew pt., wind, remarks, and observers. Handwritten bird counts list bird species and quantity observed. Also included is a typed preliminary report.
