Abstract

This item consists of a folder of data collected at sea by Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program staff, on the Eastern Area Cruise 18, aboard the R/V Thomas Washington, 1967. Materials include: bird observation sheets, fix data sheets, and additional at-sea data. Bird observation sheets include time, species, #, dir., specimen or band no., and remarks. Remarks include physical descriptions of birds (colors, size, maturity), flock size, and behavior (sitting on water, feeding, calling, etc.). Fix data sheets include: date, ship, cruise no., organization, recorder, sunrise, sunset, position (lat and long), miles traveled, time of fix, type of fix, latitude longitude, and hourly positions. Handwritten bird counts list bird species and quantity observed. Additional data recordings include date, position noon, # hrs obs, # miles, # birds, and additional data. Also included is a typed preliminary report.
