Abstract

The materials document Suzanne Ripley's observations of primates during the Smithsonian Primate Survey, 1971. These include maps as well as hand written and typed notes. The two maps show observations for October 19 and 20, 1971. These have colored notations. Hand written notes cover observations, September and October 1971. Notes include a large number of abbreviations. They appear to include date, time ranges, behaviors of individuals, and location. Typed notes cover 1970 - 1971 and are often daily notes, with time of day and observed behaviors individuals (appear to be identified by nickname), troops (identified with alpha numeric identifiers), and condition of vegetation.
