This item consists of a folder of data collected at sea by Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program staff, aboard the USS Hall, 1967. Materials include: bird observation sheets (At Sea Daily Log E), plans for the day, surface weather observation data sheets, and fix data sheets. Bird observation sheets include time, species, #, dir., specimen or band no., and remarks. Remarks include physical descriptions of birds (colors, size, maturity), flock size, and behavior (sitting on water, feeding, calling, etc.). Fix data sheets include: date, ship, cruise no., sunset, position (lat and long), miles traveled from sunrise to sunset, hourly positions (latitude, longitude, wind dir., wind sp., wave dir., wave hgt.). Surface weather observation sheets include: vessel, date, position, course, spd., type, time, sky and ceiling, visibility, weather and obstructions to vision, sea level, temp., dew pt., wind, altimeter set., remarks and supplemental coded data, and observer initials. Also included are typed plans for the day.
