Abstract

This item consists of a folder of data collected at sea by Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program staff, on the Southern Island Cruise 18, aboard the USS George Eastman, 1967. Materials include: bird observation sheets (At Sea Daily Log E), numerical data, and surface weather observations. Bird observation sheets include time, species, #, dir., specimen or band no., and remarks. Remarks include physical descriptions of birds (colors, size, maturity), flock size, and behavior (sitting on water, feeding, calling, etc.). Surface weather observation sheets include: vessel, date, position, course, spd., type, time, sky and ceiling, visibility, weather and obstructions to vision, sea level, temp., dew pt., wind, altimeter set., remarks and supplemental coded data, and observer initials.
