This item consists of a folder of data collected at sea by Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program staff, on the Eastern Area Cruise 9, aboard the R/V David Starr Jordan, 1967. Materials include: bird observation sheets (At Sea Daily Log E), fix data sheets, and ship's weather observations. Bird observation sheets include time, species, #, dir., hgt., and remarks. Remarks include physical descriptions of birds (colors, size, maturity), flock size, and behavior (sitting on water, feeding, calling, etc.). Fix data sheets include date, time and position data, distance data, time of fix, type of fix, longitude, latitude, wind dir., wind sp., wave dir., wave hgt. Ship's weather observations include: vessel, date, time, position, total cloud amt., wind, visibility, weather, pressure, air temp., temperature, clouds, 3-hour pressure tendency, temperature, indicator, diff. air-sea, dew point, waves, remarks. Also includes photocopied report.
