Abstract

The color slides document Helmut Buechner's field work with bighorn sheep in Arizona, California, and Nevada, 1955. Some slides have typed captions. There is location and date information listed on subdividers. Subject matter includes vegetation, wildlife (sheep) in the wild and penned, terrain, and some candid images if individuals. Locations include New Mexico (Santia Mountains, Big Hatchet Mountains, San Andres), Gila Wilderness area between New Mexico and Arizona, and Arizona (Kofa Mountains, Cabez Prieta Game Range, Colorado River, Grand Canyon).
