Abstract

The 14 black and white photographs document Buechner's immobilization studies in Africa during the 1950's and 1960's. Subject matter includes rhinoceros, kob, and giraffe that were immobilized, equipment used, and some images with participants in background. Most have typed captions pasted to the reverse side, which include photograph number and description. Usually these describe at what stage during immobilization the photograph was taken.
