Abstract

The dictabelt is a recording of Helmut Buechner's field notes for work completed in Semliki Game Reserve, Uganda, July 24 - 26, 1959. He begins with the date and discusses weather, temperature, terrain, tables of data on observed kob (field number, territorial ground #, tag no., time, location, remarks), statistics (on marked, unmarked and tagged kob), opinions on meaning of observations, and the process of tagging (how kob react to sedative over period of time). He also comments on behaviors, interactions, and personalities of kob.
