Abstract

The notebook documents field work on Kob completed by Bristol Foster, Helmut K. Buechner, and Walter Leuthold, 1963. Notes include lists of data for lion kills (date, place, sex, toto); dated entries listing quantity, age, sex, and location of animals killed by lions; record of recent kills with date, age, sex, characteristics and condition of body including some measurements or weight, location, predator, and estimated time of kill. A section of the notebook is blank. Also includes tabbed section with details on leopard kills (date, place sex, toto); unidentified table of data with time of day (possibly temperatures in Fahrenheit); kills by unknown predator (date, place, sex, toto); captures for zoo with sex, weight, and basic physical characteristics; and "meat to hotel" with date, and weight. Sites likely in Kenya.
