Abstract

The vegetation observation sheets documenting Helmut Buechner's work during June 21, 1952. Contains folder observation sheets for elevation 2500 - 3000 ft. Sheets list type of environment (e.g. open timber), location, date, exposure, slope, elevation, base line number, transect number, plot number, scats (elk - fresh, old; mule deer - fresh, old), followed by species of plant followed with production (gr.) with green wt. dry wt.; utilization (%) of paired plot; and coverage (t, 1, 2, 3). Species of plants are listed under headings: grass, forbs, shrubs, and trees. Additionally he lists range of time for observations as well as note on the verso, with narrative description of environment or notes that are possibly counts of plants. Not all fields consistently contain data. Locations indicate near mouth of Elk Canyon; Mill Creek (state not identified).
