Abstract

This item consists of the field notes of James P. Ludwig from his work with the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey in 1963 and 1964. Ludwig's field notes document his activities collecting and preparing skins and skeletons of birds on various Pacific Ocean islands including Midway Island and Kure Atoll. The notes also describe, to a lesser extent, tagging seals, collecting rats and mice, and surveying local vegetation. Included is one hand drawn map of a Booby colony. Original materials are interspersed with photocopied field notes.
