Abstract

The field notes, correspondence, and maps document Helmut Buechner's observations of bighorn sheep in Wyoming as part of the Bighorn Sheep Study, 1954-1956. Materials include a summary of a conversation with Adolph Murie, transcribed field notes (1955) for Shoshone National Forest, Jackson Hole, and Pilot Creek, with information about observed flora and fauna including population observations and environment, sometimes with lists; forms for observation information about soil and vegetation; reports; tables of estimated populations of mountain sheep; and maps with notations relating to field work and wildlife observations.
