Abstract

This item consists of a folder of data collected at sea by Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program staff, 1964, on Northern Grid Survey 16 aboard the USS Geo. Eastman (YAG 39). Materials include: bird observation sheets, at sea observation summary sheets, fix data, Deck log sheet - Type B, and climatological data. Bird observation sheets include time, species, #, dir., hgt., remarks, and loc. Remarks include phase (light phase or dark phase), change or course direction, and other notes. Fix data sheets include date, time and position data, distance data, time of fix, type of fix, longitude, and latitude. Deck log sheet Type B includes: USS, zone description, date, zone time, wind, visibility, weather, barometer, temperature, clouds, sea water temperature, waves, position, zone, time. Climatological data sheets include: recorded time, lat., long., pres wea, vis, slp, dry b, wet b, dew pt, hum%, tl sky, opa sky, waves, sea temp, wind s, wind d, course, speed. Also included is a typed photocopied monthly report.
