Abstract

This item consists of a folder of data collected at sea by Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program staff, 1964, in the area of Marshall Islands and Gilbert Islands (Kiribati). Materials include: bird observation data, fix data, at sea daily observations summary sheets, and climatological data sheets. Bird observation sheets list time, species, #, dir., hgt., and remarks. Observation summary sheets include abundance data for birds including total abundance and abundance of bird groups (Shearwater-Petrel-Albatross Group, Tropicbirds, etc.). Climatological data sheets include: recorded time, lat., long., pres wea, vis, slp, dry b, wet b, dew pt, hum%, tl sky, opa sky, waves, sea temp, wind s, wind d, course, speed. Also included is a photocopied progress report. Localities include: Taongi Atoll, Bikar Atoll, Taka Atoll, Jemo Atoll, Erikub Atoll, and Kwajalein Atoll.
