Abstract

Photographs and postcards document Arthur Sowerby's fishing while in China (undated). Some photographs have captions of varying lengths, some include years. Several images are stamped with China Journal and a sundries number. Some captions include details about fish diet, behavior, and who caught it (when collector is other than Sowerby). Subject matter includes fish being held by individuals as well as people with types of fishing nets. Not all images were taken in China.
