Abstract

Photographs document Arthur Sowerby's fishing while in China along the Gan River (undated). Some photographs have captions of varying lengths, some include years, as well as sometimes stamped with China Journal, with a sundries number. Occasionally captions include details about fish diet and behavior. Subject matter includes individuals (some appear to be local inhabitants) holding fish, sometimes environment visible in the background, waterways, ferry across the Argun River, and individuals at campsites. There are duplicates of images.
