Abstract

This item consists of a folder of data collected at sea by Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program staff, 1964, on Northern Grid Survey 6. The Northern Grid Survey was conducted of a square section of the Pacific Ocean near Hawaii. Materials include bird observations, position data, fix data, and other information. Bird observations data sheets include species names, abundance, and remarks (including if birds were collected). Other bird observation sheets include entries for time, species, #, dir., hgt., and remarks. Position data records miles from Oahu, Johnson Island, and other localities. Fix data sheets include entries for date, time, sunset time, position sunset, time of fix, type of fix, longitude, and latitude. Additional data sheets recorded time, lat., long., pres wea, vis, slp, dry b, wet b, dew pt, hum%, tl sky, opa sky, waves, sea temp, wind s, wind d, course, speed.
