Abstract

This item consists of a folder of data collected at sea by Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program staff, 1963, on Northern Grid Survey 1. The Northern Grid Survey was conducted of a square section of the Pacific Ocean. Materials include weather observations, hourly position recordings, and bird observations. Weather observation data sheets list: time, station pressure, dry/wet bulb (degrees F), re. humid (%), total sky cover, "clouds and obscuring phenomena", total opaque sky cover, sea water temperature, and waves. Some recordings include position, course, visibility, sea level pressure, temperature, dew point, and wind direction and speed. Also included are hourly recordings of position, that list time and geographic coordinates. Bird observations sheets include data recorded for time, species, and remarks. Remarks are on number, behavior, direction of flight, and other observations.
