Abstract

The field book documents geological fieldwork completed by August Foerste in New England (undated). Entries includes various notes as well as entries with locations and geological descriptions, including layer composition and color, type of stone, geological age, illustrations, and sections. There are entries describing fossils found. Location information is a combination of town or county names (not always clear which), name of landowner, and directions from. There are sketches of fossils. A portion of the notebook is blank.
