Abstract

The notebook documents geological fieldwork completed by August Foerste in Kentucky, 1901 - 1902. Pages are numbered. Sites are numbered and include geological sections with descriptions (measurements, composition and color, comparisons). There are references to numbered photographs. There are also geological sketches and hand drawn maps with notes. Location information includes names of geological landmarks, distance from, landmarks such as names of owners. Lists locations of New Hope and Bardstown (most likely Kentucky). There is also writing beginning from the back of the notebook. These entries include what appear to be a list of geological specimens listed by state. Some include citations.
