Abstract

The field book documents geological survey field work of August Foerste in Tennessee and Cumberland River, 1899. Pages are numbered. Entries include a combination of information such as location, method of transportation, terrain including references to geological and other types of landmarks, ground composition including type and color of stone with measurements, geological sections, and hand drawn maps. Toward the end of the notebook is a a list of fossils; descriptive information is not clear.
