PrintThe logbook documents conditions of stations station no. D5700 to H5350, January 30, 1912 - July 23, 1913 as recorded by the USS Albatross when it was out of Sausalito, California. At the beginning and ending of the logbook are results from testing and comparing various thermometers that were then used for logbook entries. Entries contain station number; date; time of day; bearings (true) often including landmark reference (e.g. Southampton Light); direction, length, duration of haul; depth (beginning and end); tide, rev and velocity of current (sometimes blank); character of bottom; apparatus used; temperature (air, surface, correction, bottom, correction); surface and bottom salinity (sometimes blank); and remarks. Remarks include details about collecting (issues with equipment, type of specimens collected, etc.). Locations include California.
