Abstract

This item consists of the diary of Floyd Alonzo McClure, 1925. McClure taught in Canton, China throughout the year, with some excursions to other parts of China and to the Philippines. Notes are narrative and describe daily activities such as teaching class, botanical lab work, and trips and field work. Some entries include supply lists and hand drawn maps of routes taken on trips. Some notes include observations of plants seen, notes on local uses for plants, notes on plants seen in the vegetable market, and political turmoil in China. Localities in China include: Fati, Canton, Teng Oo, Heung Hokeuk, Koo Shui Haang, Mung Haang, and others. Localities in Philippines include: Manila.
