Abstract

Journal of a voyage from Gloucester to the banks and return by George W. Scott Cook on the USFC schooner Edwin C. Doliver [sic] [recte Dolliver] (commanded by William Morris for the U.S.F.C. under commissioner Spencer Baird), 4 January to 24 April 1879, voyage numbers 4 through 6. The journal includes a daily narrative of events including routes, baiting, and quantities and types of fishes collected. Each entry is accompanied by berometer readings at noon and midnight. Locality: Sable Island, Grand Banks of Newfoundland, and Gloucester Harbor.
