Abstract

Original logbook of the Grampus (mislabeled "Halcyon"), 7 August 1913 to 23 June 1915, station record numbers 10242-10293. Data recorded includes station number, date, hour, position (lat, long), locality, depth, bottom, sample, wind (direction and force), sea, sky, temperatures (depth of, thermometer make and number, reading, stem temp, correction, corrected temp, w. sample, bottle used), currents (depth, hour, tide, time down, revolutions, speed, direction), color water, transparency, remarks, nets (description, depth, time, speed), and notes. Notes often include lists of specimens collected including quantities for some. Locality: Bay of Fundy, Gulf of Maine.
