Abstract

Original logbook of the Grampus (mislabeled "Halcyon" on the cover), 9 July to 22 August 1912, station record numbers 10001 to 10040. Data recorded includes station number, date, hour, position (lat, long), locality, depth, bottom, sample, wind (direction and force), sea, sky, temperatures (depth of, thermometer make and number, reading, stem temp, correction, corrected temp, w. sample, bottle used), currents (depth, hour, tide, time down, revolutions, speed, direction), color water, transparency, remarks, nets (description, depth, time, speed), and notes. Notes often include lists of specimens collected including quantities for some. Locality: Luckse Sound, Lower Broad Sound, and the North Atlantic Ocean off the coast of New Hampshire, Maine, and Nova Scotia.
